You
get calls the strangest way!
It was a frustrating Saturday.
Not work related; my wife had just sent me out to the grocery for the 3rd
or 4th time to pick up something for a special dinner that night for
guests.
I was at the express checkout,
paying for my item, and my cell phone rings. When I answer, the gentleman on the
phone asks:
“Are you the guy with the red
Nerd Volkswagen parked outside the Loeb at Fallingbrook mall?”
I very cautiously answer yes,
all the while looking around for some sort of spy camera or jokester in the
area.
“Oh good. I’m over by the
oranges. Can you help me out? My computer has a problem.”
I avoided any jokes regarding
apples and oranges (it was hard, sarcasm is a way of life with me), but walked
over to speak with the client. He was heading out to Cuba for vacation, but took
my card and name to contact me when he’s back. He has a few internet issues,
likely spyware related.
I never thought that I’d pick
up a client in the fruit section of the grocery store. I always drive the
nerdmobile, and I have my cell number in the window. I have received a few
direct calls this way, but this is the first fruit section call I’m aware of.
You should have heard my wife & daughter laugh!
People see the NerdMobile, and
it works!!!
