Being a Nerd

One of the definitions of ‘Nerd’ on www.dictionary.com states that a Nerd is “A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.” At Nerds On Site we are busy working on radically changing that definition. Yes, we are smart. Yes, we are driven and strive for perfection. No, we are not socially inept. Being a Nerd with Nerds On Site means many things. It means being outgoing, friendly and helpful. It means being able to explain to anyone, in easy to understand, plain English, how to do something on their computer, or what is happening with their ‘high-tech equipment’, what needs to be done to fix it and why. It means being the master of your own destiny. It means being an integral part of a dynamic team. We are not Nerds in the traditional, outdated sense of the word, we are a bunch of well-rounded, interesting smart people who happen to enjoy keeping up with the exploding world of technology and having fun along the way.

It is said that variety is the spice of life. Being a Nerd with Nerds On Site provides that spice and more. When I think about other jobs that I have done and about what other jobs are out there, this one provides enough stimuli and variety to fill many, many days to come. Each day brings new environments, new people, new challenges, new things to master. Job boredom does not apply here!  To top it all off, the Teammates are fantastic, the uniform is great (no more ‘what shall I wear to the office’) and we drive around in really cute toy-like cars! My ladybug Nerdmobile puts a smile on my face each morning I go out to start my day.
